Emma Stone In Talks For Woody Allen’s Next
Posted by Kayla • On April 23, 2013 • No Comments

EXCLUSIVE: Woody Allen has begun to cast up his next film, and it looks like Emma Stone will play his leading lady. Stone is in talks on the film. These stories are the easiest to write, since Allen keeps his plots, titles, and everything else under his hat. About all you can say is who will be in it, and I expect Stone to close a deal soon. Allen most recently completed Blue Jasmine, with Cate Blanchett, Alec Baldwin and Louis C.K. leading the cast. Stone has a lot going on, including the Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu-directed dark comedy Birdman, the untitled film that Cameron Crowe will direct, and she will reprise as Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

UPDATE: Here is a bit more information on Woody Allen’s next film. I’m told he will shoot in the South of France. That country certainly worked out for him in Midnight In Paris.

Emma Stone: ‘I was amazed by The Croods’
Posted by Kayla • On February 26, 2013 • No Comments

Emma Stone has declared that she was amazed when she watched her new animated film The Croods for the first time. The Croods features the voices of Stone, Nicolas Cage and Ryan Reynolds in the tale of a caveman family who explore the world after a severe earthquake. In an interview with Flicks and Bits, Stone reflected on her first viewing of the DreamWorks comedy.

“That was incredible, it was amazing,” she recalled. “I think The Croods has elements of all of my favorite movies, which is that it’s not just funny and it’s not just heartbreaking, it takes you on a journey throughout the entire film.”

Stone went on to reveal that she even shed a tear while watching the prehistoric family’s journey to find a new home.

“I cried watching it, and I laughed, and I just went along for the ride and enjoyed myself the entire time,” she admitted.

The star further explained. “Throughout recording it you come in and you’re doing different things on different days, and then when you see how everything plays out in the end you realize that the messages – which there are many in the film – stick with you after the fact, but you’re not sitting there watching it thinking about the ‘themes’, you’re sitting there enjoying this family.

“I loved that. It’s different than any other animated movie that I’ve seen, in a sense that it feels so true to life the whole entire time – even though we are in the Stone Age.”

The Croods opens on March 22 in the US and the UK. Watch a trailer below:

Meet Emma Stone: the Better half of The Amazing Spider-man
Posted by Kayla • On June 11, 2012 • No Comments

The trademark of this girl is her deep sultry voice. Known as red-head in the film fraternity, she started her career with film Superbad. Andrew Garfield’s real life heart stopper Emma Stone will be starring opposite him in the Sony Picture’s film “THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN”!

Stone was initially dubious about accepting the role of Gwen. She agrees she has read the Marvel comics series of the spider-man and finds it an amazing read yet it seemed to be a challenge initially considering the massive success of the previous films. However, the doubts receded as soon as she gave her auditions. And with the doubts, receded her fears and pressures of working in the film. She says, “I know that the audience might not be satisfied but if I was the choice of the director then he must have put in some thought before he chose me to play the character of Gwen!”

The sparks of the real life love will sure be visible onscreen as well. Talking about the emotional synchronization with the character of Peter Parker, Emma says, “Some things are supposed to be felt, I cannot spell how the emotional harmony is between Gwen and Peter! Gwen loves Peter Parker not because he is ‘The Spider-man’. Gwen comes from a family background where she fears that her father might die any minute. She gets a much deserved emotional support and warmth from Peter.”

So will we see Emma butt kicking goons in the film? She says, “There wasn’t a major amount of stunt work for me. I’ve always thought that if Gwen needed to kick some ass, it wouldn’t make a ton of sense to me because she’s pretty focused on her studies. She’s an editor and she’s focused on academia, we don’t ever really see her getting in shape. That would have been an interesting character element, but there’s even a part where I had to hit someone with something and I made sure she looked like she did not know what she was doing, that she’d never hit anyone before. My version of Gwen, like me, wouldn’t know how to go about really kicking someone’s ass. She’s a policeman’s daughter who’s been told to be responsible and to avoid that side of the world.”

Films like Spider-man are memorable not just for the audience but become engrained on the brains cells of the actors as well. The memorable moment of playing Gwen for Stone had been the one where she is swinging in the air and there is music going on in the background. “I feared that I might fall off but the music was such a delight to ears that I survived the scene!” she says.

Does she feel jittery now that the film is about to release? Emma says, “The entire film is like a mission and we, actors, are a small part of it, however, we also play the role of taking this mission forward. And I hope when the audience comes to see the film they like it and leave the theatre smiling!”

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN of Sony Pictures releases in 3D all over India on 29th June, a week ahead of USA.
